Nike Korea, Doosan Logistics Solutions Ink Record-breaking Logistics Partnership
Nike Korea joins forces with Doosan Logistics Solutions Co. (DLS) for a groundbreaking logistics partnership to bolster automated solutions for their expansive sneaker production in the region.
Moreover, the agreement between Nike Korea and Doosan Logistics Solutions reportedly broke the record for the largest order, where the Korean logistics firm agreed to extend comprehensive services, starting from design to installing automated equipment to fitting the system.
Doosan Logistics Solutions is a system integrator company that offers complete solutions. It revealed that it had secured a contract for Nike's Icheon Customer Service Center's (CSC) second expansion project.
The company explained that the deal with Nike is an extension of the first Nike Icheon expansion awarded two years ago. This is said to be the biggest project in the entire history of Doosan Logistics.
"We have gained recognition for our expertise and reliability not only among distribution and e-commerce customers but also in the manufacturing sector," a source from the company stated. "We will continue to expand our contracts by supplying state-of-the-art logistics automation systems and smart factory solutions tailored to the needs of individual customers."
Hankook Ilbo reported that as a follow-up to the 2021 Nike Icheon CSC, the initial project, the new contract states that Doosan will supply logistics automation solutions to Nike Korea's facilities, including warehouse control systems.
The latest expansion will be for the automation that will allow Nike to process and store 200,000 boxes. The aim is to allow the storage of these packages on a shuttle rack that can be as high as 26 meters. This storage is a type of shelf with automated shuttles for easy storing and retrieval of boxes.
Meanwhile, an official of DLS said they will continue to add more orders and provide state-of-the-art logistics automation systems and smart factory solutions to Nike and other companies.
